Winter Weddings

Inspired by the snow storm here in Colorado, I thought it would be a great idea to post a blog covering Winter Weddings. Of course it'd be fantastic to get hitched when you're not freezing your nose off, but there's a very classic and chic way of hosting the perfect Winter Wonderland Wedding.

You don't have to go all out with the fake snow and stuff, but designing your venue with winter inspirations can make your guests feel like they are entering a feel good place (like you feel around the holidays).

Here are some tips and ideas for your winter event:

1. Not all winter weddings have to be WHITE. Consider adding colors like blue, silver, some brown colors to imitate trees.

2. Snowflakes can be used in moderation, but consider adding branches to your table-tops in vases to add a nature look.

3. We all love sparkles and shimmer. Consider adding rhinestones, sparkles, and even salt (go figure) to little trinkets around the venue.

For example... take glass votive holders, cover in modge podge and then dip into salt.

4. Add lighting to your space. Whether strings of lights that hang from the ceiling or globe lanterns (white) that hang from above, this adds a great dimensional effect.

These are just a few tips- see pictures below for great ideas:

Got a blemish before your wedding?

Have you ever worried about whether you're going to get pimple right before your wedding? Yes, that is why photographers airbrush photos, but don't you want to look radiant for your big day?

I found a product that I feel works like a charm! Now, I normally don't use a lot of face products because it makes my face dry and irritated, but I have not had a problem with Neutrogena's RapidClear "Acne Eliminating Spot Gel". If I feel something, I immediately run for this gel and dab a little on the infected area and soon enough it starts to disappear.

I'm obviously no dermatologist, but from my experience using RapidClear, I've loved it! Just test it out way before your big day to see if it's the product for you. No one likes a blemish on their big day- you have enough to stress about.

Wedding Inspiration on Pinterst

I recently just discovered Pinterest and how cool it is that whatever I am looking at online can be "pinned" to my inspiration boards (and I can have as many different board themes as I want). This is a great tool to have when you are getting ideas for your events and come across some amazing stuff out there.

When you first log in your home page is full of pins from the people you are following- Facebook friends, Twitter followers, and random people that share your interests. You can repin, like, or comment on their pictures. When you repin them, you assign the picture or video to your specific board and it is magically yours. You can also share these pins with your social networks making it easy to show what you like.

Pinterest is also a great source to put your wedding registration on. Then people can see what you want and how you want it.

Besides wedding inspiration, I have pinned many DIY things with step by step guides so I can come back to it if I need it for an event decoration or for my personal collections.

It's a fantastic site for women (and men) to gather ideas, get opinions, and decide what they want their wedding to look like.

Target is ready for Halloween

Recently I walked through target and it threw up Halloween everywhere. Whether you can find candy in the food section, goodies in "The $1 Spot", or rummage through the aisles and aisles of decor, you won't be unhappy with what you find. You can decorate for the holiday or throw an awesome costume party, but Target will have literally EVERYTHING you need. Here are a few things I found while wandering the Halloween section of Target:
Put a candle and light shines through the holes
These make for fun (and less scary) centerpieces or table decor
Line the walls or entry way with these fire safe pumpkins
Hand out candy in this bucket
These candelabras make for great centerpieces
 Serve your cocktails in this...

 Plastic (not paper plates)
 Make some scary Drinks!

Happy Halloween Everyone!
